i-Wonder provides technology solutions for the insurance industry. One of our key services is to create price comparison websites and our clients include Comparethemarket, Gocompare and Confused. As part of this, we manage the relationships with the insurers/brokers who display their prices on these comparison websites.
As an independently owned business with a close-knit team we have the flexibility to try new ideas, develop new technology and challenge the status-quo. Our office is located in Micheldever, Winchester with onsite parking and excellent rail links. All of our employees are home-based, with occasional trips into the Micheldever office.
We’re a fast-growing business with big plans, and we’re looking for ambitious, talented individuals to join our team. We're currently expanding our headcount in the UK and we have a second office in Sri Lanka.
Role Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Undertake compliance assurance and oversight activities across key business areas, with a primary focus on:
- i) Reviewing panel member Fair Value Assessments (FVAs) to ensure compliance with PROD requirements and delivery of fair value outcomes in line with Consumer Duty
- ii) Reviewing and approving marketing materials (including banners and promotions) to ensure they are clear, fair, not misleading, and compliant with FCA financial promotions rules, and
- iii) Assessing end-to-end customer journeys to ensure compliance with Consumer Duty, IDD requirements, and FCA principles, with a focus on customer understanding and fair outcomes
- Support the business in meeting Consumer Duty requirements, including maintaining effective oversight of insurers and brokers on the price comparison panel and assessing customer outcomes delivered through partners
- Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks, supporting the implementation of appropriate controls and practical solutions that balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives
Additional Responsibilities (as required)
- Support and deliver compliance monitoring and thematic reviews, including broader assessments of policies, processes, and controls
- Review regulatory developments and industry changes, assessing their impact on the business and compliance framework
- Support the production of compliance assurance MI and reporting, including input into governance forums such as the Risk Management Committee
- Assist with panel member audits, due diligence activity, and partner oversight where required
- Support ad hoc projects and requests from the Head of Audit & Compliance and the CEO
- Promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the organisation
Knowledge and skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply logical thinking to complex regulatory scenarios
- High attention to detail with a proactive and inquisitive mindset
- Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with both internal stakeholders and external panel members
- Able to work independently, using initiative and sound judgement
- Adaptable, flexible, and delivery-focused, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word)
Experience & Knowledge
- Experience within financial services or insurance is essential, ideally within a regulated environment such as a price comparison website, insurer, or broker
- Practical experience or strong understanding of FCA regulatory requirements will be highly beneficial, particularly: Consumer Duty, Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), and Financial promotions rules
- Awareness or understanding of PROD and product governance frameworks (desirable but not required)
- Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations (e.g. DPA, UK GDPR) (desirable but not required)
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
