Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Male Support Worker to provide compassionate assistance and support to children and young people with special needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting independence, and assisting with daily activities. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals requiring specialised care and support.
Duties
- Provide personalised care and support in line with individual care plans, ensuring the well-being and safety of children and young people
- Assist with daily routines, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support participation in educational activities, leisure pursuits, and social interactions to promote development and confidence
- Drive children to appointments, school, or recreational activities as required, ensuring safe transportation at all times
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues, families, and other professionals regarding progress and any concerns
- Record observations and update care plans regularly to reflect the needs and progress of each individual
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages independence whilst respecting personal boundaries and preferences
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or young people in a caring or support role is desirable
- Knowledge of childcare practices and experience developing or implementing care plans is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with children, families, and team members
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting
