Key Stage 2
Main Purpose of the Role
- To deliver high-quality, engaging and inclusive teaching to pupils in KS2
- To uphold and promote the Catholic ethos and values of St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, being a catholic is not required
- To contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons in line with the National Curriculum and school policies
- Provide a stimulating, supportive and safe learning environment for all pupils, including those with SEND
- Assess, record and report on pupils’ progress, attainment and development
- Take on subject leadership responsibilities, as agreed with SLT
- Maintain strong behaviour management in line with the school’s policies
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, families and the wider community
- Work closely with colleagues to plan and deliver an enriching curriculum
- Participate in professional development (CPD) opportunities

Qualifications and Training
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience
- Experience of teaching in a primary school setting (KS2)
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEND
- Experience in subject leadership
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum
- Good understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Knowledge of SEND and strategies to support all learners
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Effective communication and organisational skills
Personal Qualities
- Commitment to upholding the Catholic ethos of the school, being a catholic is not required
- Team player with a collaborative approach
