FN UK are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our Production team from 12pm to 10pm Monday-Thursday (4 day working week). In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the production team in the manufacturing components using precision engineering techniques. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This position reports to the Production Director.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Operating any of the company’s VMC and 5 Axis CNC machines, as required
- Performing First Off`s, checking dimensional quality & amending machine settings in pursuit of component design requirements
- Operating to an acceptable production target whist maintaining a high standard of quality where ‘right-first-time’ is paramount
- Setting up and operating all types of manual machining equipment, covering milling, turning, grinding and marking processes
- Willingness to assist in other areas of the production process as requested
Required Skills
- Previous experience as a CNC Operator ideally using Fanuc controls.
- An excellent attention to detail & mechanical dexterity when dealing with small precision parts
- Problem identification and rectification
- Ability to read engineering drawings and comprehension of geometric tolerancing
- Good working knowledge of both ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems
- Good communication skills.
- A high level of proactivity and problem solving both as an individual & as part of a team
- The physical ability to carry out manual handling tasks
- The ability to follow processes accurately
- Good numeracy skills
- Enthusiasm, professional attitude and willingness to learn
- Willingness to work overtime to meet targets when required
- Good ability with hand tools such as files, grinders, drills and riveting.
Desirable skills
- Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck Licence is an advantage.
- Cylindrical and surface Grinding Experience
- Capable of using Microsoft Office applications
