Job Overview
We are looking for a caring, motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our children's residential home. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children and young people while supporting and developing a dedicated staff team.
As a Team Leader, you will lead by example, providing high-quality care and guidance to staff while helping to create a safe, nurturing and stable home environment. Working alongside the Manager & Deputy, you will support the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring children receive the highest standard of care.
Shifts will include days, nights and sleep-ins (as required), with an additional £70 paid per sleep-in.

Duties
- Lead shifts and provide day-to-day guidance and support to the staff team.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting high standards of care and professional practice.
- Support children and young people in line with their individual care plans, helping them to achieve positive outcomes.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
- Support the Manager with the smooth running of the home and ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Complete and review care records, risk assessments and daily documentation to ensure they are accurate and of a high standard.
- Support new staff through induction, coaching and ongoing development.
- Promote positive behaviour and respond effectively to incidents using therapeutic approaches.
- Ensure the home provides a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, training and continuous professional development.
- Drive children and young people to appointments, education and activities where required.
Qualifications
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential).
- Hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
You will bring
- Experience working with children and young people within a residential childcare setting.
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring or leading a team is desirable.
- Good knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to remain calm, make sound decisions and lead confidently during challenging situations.
- Strong IT skills for recording and reporting.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
