Our Brough practice is a modern, busy private clinic serving an affluent catchment across the East Riding of Yorkshire. We are now looking for a motivated and experienced Dental Therapist / Hygienist to join our growing clinical team.
The Role
We are seeking a dual-qualified Dental Therapist / Hygienist (or a Dental Hygienist with strong clinical skills) to join us on a self-employed basis at our Brough practice, working two days per week:
- Tuesday and Wednesday each week
You will work within your full scope of practice to deliver high-quality hygiene and therapy services, including:
- Periodontal assessment and non-surgical periodontal therapy
- Scale and polish, oral hygiene instruction, and preventive care
- Restorations (fillings) and simple extractions for adults and children (where scope permits)
- Fissure sealants and fluoride applications
- Treatment planning and patient education
- Working collaboratively with our principal dentist and wider clinical team
Remuneration
- £36–£45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Self-employed engagement
- Two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Essential Requirements
- GDC registration as a Dental Therapist and/or Dental Hygienist — current and without restrictions
- Minimum 2 years' UK clinical experience (essential — overseas experience alone will not be considered)
- Valid indemnity insurance
- Up-to-date CPD in line with GDC requirements
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Experience working in a private practice environment is advantageous
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience with Dentally or similar cloud-based practice management software
- Interest in cosmetic and preventive dentistry
- Confident in managing full periodontal charting and reassessment appointments
