Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas for new dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure ingredients are fresh and available
- Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service during busy periods
- Serve food to customers when required, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality are maintained
- Adhere strictly to food safety protocols at all times, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
- Experience in meal preparation, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in presentation and cleanliness
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous experience serving customers is desirable but not essential
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory
