Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in peoples own homes. The role involves supporting people with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their well-being. Previous experience in senior care, dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice care, or caregiving is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Assist people with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support people with medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed routines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support people with activities of daily living, including toileting and mobility assistance
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Document care provided accurately and report any concerns or changes in client condition to the relevant healthcare team
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care best practices is advantageous
- Relevant certifications such as first aid are desirable but not essential; training can be provided
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfer or mobility support
- Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards clients
- Valid driving licence is essential for roles involving transportation of clients
- Flexibility to work shifts as required; some positions may involve early mornings or evenings but generally no night shifts are involved
