QHSE Engineer / Manager – 6 Month FTC – Haydock – up to £45k (DOE)
Our well-established client is seeking an experienced QHSE Engineer / Manager to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting project-focused opportunity for an experienced Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental professional to support the implementation of a new Health & Safety management system, whilst assisting with a backlog of QHSE activities across the business. Working alongside the existing Health & Safety contact, you will provide hands-on support to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen existing management systems. There is potential for this position to become permanent for the right candidate.
Duties include:
- Supporting the implementation of a new Health & Safety management system
- Reviewing and updating Health & Safety policies, procedures and documentation
- Conducting risk assessments, audits, inspections and compliance reviews
- Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Providing advice and guidance on Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters
- Assisting with ISO standards compliance and continuous improvement projects
- Delivering training, toolbox talks and employee awareness sessions where required
- Managing and reducing the backlog of QHSE-related tasks and projects
- Liaising with external auditors, contractors and regulatory bodies
- Preparing reports and monitoring QHSE performance indicators
Working hours:
Monday to Friday
9:00am – 5:00pm (Flexible working hours available for the right candidate)
The ideal candidate will have a proven background within a QHSE, HSE or Quality Management role within a manufacturing environment. You will possess strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, experience implementing management systems and the ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities.
