Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner / Domestic Worker to join our team at a Residential Care Home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough cleaning of communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and other designated spaces within the care home.
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment to ensure surfaces are sanitised effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, furniture, and fixtures in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure all areas are maintained regularly.
- Assist with laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens and clothing.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning to management promptly.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, especially when dealing with residents’ personal spaces.
- Support team members in maintaining a hygienic environment that promotes residents’ comfort and safety.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is desirable.
- Experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment used in residential or healthcare settings is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained consistently.
