iCare24 Group is currently recruiting Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to work with local authorities across the UK. We are seeking experienced professionals who are passionate about supporting individuals in mental health crisis and ensuring safe and lawful practice under the Mental Health Act 1983.
The Role
As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in assessing individuals experiencing mental health crises and coordinating appropriate interventions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments
- Coordinating with doctors, police, and other professionals
- Determining whether detention under the Mental Health Act 1983 is necessary
- Supporting individuals and families during crisis situations
- Ensuring decisions are made in line with legal frameworks and safeguarding principles
- Completing accurate and timely assessment documentation

Requirements
- Qualified and registered Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)
- Current professional registration (Social Work England, NMC, HCPC or equivalent)
- Experience undertaking Mental Health Act assessments
- Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and associated legislation
- Ability to work independently and make complex decisions in high-pressure situations
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
