HGV Class 1 Driver – Ad Hoc Shifts
Location: Swindon
Pay: £17.41 per hour (Days)
We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for ad hoc shifts with a well-established furniture distribution company based in Swindon.
Role Details
- Driving Class 1 vehicles for trunking, store deliveries and general haulage
- Delivering furniture and related products safely to RDCs, stores and customer sites
- Operating and manoeuvring a range of trailers, including double deck trailers
- Minimal manual handling, with most work involving palletised or no-touch deliveries
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with transport regulations
- Representing the client professionally on every shift
- Flexibility required due to the ad hoc nature of the work
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience, including double deck trailer experience
- Valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum of 6 points with no DR, DD or IN endorsements
- Good understanding of driving hours, WTD and transport regulations
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills
