Working closely with the Group HR Director, you will lead and develop the HR and Recruitment team, ensuring the department is equipped to deliver an efficient and high-quality service across the organisation. You will play a key role in translating people strategy into practical initiatives, supporting organisational objectives and driving a positive employee experience.
The role has broad responsibility across employee relations, HR operations, safer recruitment compliance, pay and reward, HR systems and people management. You will be comfortable identifying strengths within the team, addressing development needs and ensuring the HR function continues to evolve and add value to the wider business.
This role is based between 3 sites, the main one being in Southend with 900 staff to support between the team.
Main duties to manage, lead and oversee:
- Operational Leadership and Service Delivery
- Leadership & Management
- Team Leadership & Development
- Employee relations, litigation and casework oversight
- Recruitment, onboarding and safeguarding compliance
- HR Operations, system and data
- Organisational change and workforce planning
- Quality & continuous improvement
- Stakeholder engagement & partnership working
You will be someone not only with Further Education experience, but also demonstrate behaviours that are consistent with an inclusive and encouraging style. You will carry out duties with regard to group policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, equal opportunities and data protection.
A DBS will be required for this post.
This is a temporary role with the opportunity to be considered/apply for the permanent post.
