Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our 5 star licensed boarding kennels. This role involves providing compassionate care to animals, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the business in daily operations. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in animal welfare and seeking hands-on experience within a professional environment. An OFQUAL level 3 in Animal Management is mandatory. Prior kennel experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers, processing transactions and answering phone calls.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cat pens and surrounding areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and document them, report observations to Manager.
- Making bookings. Inputting customer payments and sending invoices and confirmations by email.
- Walking dogs on our double lead system.
- Maintain stock levels of food and ensure equipment is in good working order
- Washing and drying, storing of dog & cat bedding.
- Administering medications
Qualifications
- Level 3 in Animal Management or equivalent.
- Genuine interest in animal welfare and care
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Compassionate nature and excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle animals gently and confidently
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy environment
