About the Role
Balfor Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join a nurturing and supportive residential children's home in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire.

Working alongside the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care, promoting positive outcomes, and creating a safe, stable, and supportive environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Work flexibly on a shift rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins where required.
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people, promoting their emotional well-being, independence, and personal development.
- Assess individual needs and contribute to the development, implementation, and review of person-centred care plans.
- Provide high-quality care and support tailored to each young person's needs.
- Promote positive behaviour, safeguarding, and the welfare of all children and young people within the service.
- Administer medication safely and accurately, maintaining clear and accurate records.
- Ensure all documentation, reports, and care records are completed to a high standard.
- Support the home in meeting and exceeding OFSTED standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and visits from external professionals and regulatory bodies.
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and other agencies involved in the young person's care.
- Contribute to creating a warm, caring, and therapeutic environment that encourages growth and achievement.
- Assist with admissions, transitions, and settling-in arrangements for new residents.
- Attend training, supervision sessions, team meetings, and professional development activities.
- Promote a culture of health, safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the home.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year's experience working within a children's residential care setting.
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong understanding of children's safeguarding, relevant legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
