Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Bar Assistant to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting bar operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organised environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic setting, providing a welcoming experience for all patrons. Previous experience in hospitality or food service is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. This post is predominantly a Saturday night with opportunity for overtime.
Duties
- Serve drinks and assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner MUST be 18+
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including glassware and utensils
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and responsible alcohol service policies
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during service hours
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
- Support the team with general duties such as setting up tables, clearing empty glasses, and assisting with event organisation
- Monitor customer behaviour to promote a safe environment and prevent over-serving
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver exceptional customer experiences
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, serving, or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly attitude with good communication skills and a professional demeanour
- A genuine interest in hospitality and providing outstanding customer service
