We are recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading logistics company seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder / Transport Broker to join their successful team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded transport professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong relationships, and is motivated by delivering outstanding service while maximising profitability.
- Plan, resource and allocate loads daily to achieve the best possible margins

Schedule deliveries in line with customer requirements and service expectations

Proactively source additional transport opportunities through transport trading platforms

Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers

Maintain regular communication with subcontract hauliers and transport partners

Monitor delivery performance and resolve any service issues or delays efficiently

Work towards operational KPIs and business performance targets

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability across transport operations
- Previous experience as a Transport Broker, Transport Trader, Freight Forwarder, or similar role

Strong negotiation skills with proven experience securing competitive transport rates

Good understanding of UK transport legislation, including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations

Detailed knowledge of the UK general haulage market

Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK

Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills

Commercial awareness with a focus on delivering results
