Job description
UK Applicants Only Please
****5-Star Employer Award 2024 and 2025****
Home Instead Basingstoke was established in January 2015 to provide exceptional care to clients in our area, and give them a sense of worth whilst enabling them to remain living comfortably and independently in their own homes. To support our ongoing growth we are looking for more exceptional people in the Basingstoke, Hook, Overton and Tadley areas to deliver that care.
A job with us is different
- £14.00 per hour basic wage, double rates on bank holidays
- 30p per mile travel for the full day’s mileage less 5 miles
- DBS cost refunded
- Full time or part time, employed permanent roles
- Guaranteed hours available
- No uniforms – we do not wear uniforms because we want to help you build relationships with your clients
- Regular visits to regular clients, so you will get to know them and how best to care for them
- Introductions to your clients – we will introduce you to each of your clients and work with you so you understand their needs and how best to deliver their care
- All visits 1 hour or longer so you don’t have to rush and you can do the job properly, getting to know your clients in the process
- Local client runs – in so far as we can, we aim to give you a sensible run of clients who are close to each other and close to you
- Travel time between visits – we schedule visits with enough time to make the journeys
- Training and career development are important to us, so we give you full training before you start, support you to gain your Care Certificate, provide ongoing training through online and in-person training, and provide opportunities to gain Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications.
- Pastoral care - we value our people, and provide outstanding pastoral support as well as an Employee Assistance Scheme.
- Other benefits include paid holidays, company pension, referral bonus scheme, sick pay and Blue Light Card
Our approach to care is to provide each client with regular visits by a small regular team of care professionals whom they will get to know and look forward to seeing. We encourage you to get to know your clients and build relationships, and we remove all the usual obstacles – no rushed visits, no visits to clients you don’t know, no formalities of uniforms.
The work covers companionship, home help, outings, meals, personal care and specialist dementia care.
What do we ask of you?
We are looking for kind, energetic people with genuine empathy for those who need support. Ideally you will have some experience of care – either professionally or through caring for a family member.
We do need you to have your own transport in order to get from client to client.
Sorry but we can only consider local applicants and we are not able to offer visa sponsorship.
