About the Role
Are you a naturally calm, patient, and empathetic person looking for a truly rewarding one-to-one role?
We are seeking a reliable Personal Assistant to support a young adult who has a visual impairment, dementia and epilepsy
Providing support primarily at a local day centre, with occasional trips out into the community, you will be the steady, reassuring presence they need to navigate their day safely, happily, and with confidence.

- Animals & History (Please note: there are dogs and a cat at home)
- Spending time with family
Your Responsibilities
- Companion & Guide: Accompany and support them at a local day centre and during occasional community outings.
- Sighted-Guide Support: Safely navigating environments together.
- Assistance with meals: providing supervision or physical assistance due to degeneration of swallowing muscles.
- Emotional Support: Providing gentle reassurance, using calm communication, and de-escalating distress with patience and deep empathy.
- Wellbeing & Engagement: Encouraging participation in activities they love while prioritising their safety.
- Personal Care: Assisting only when required.
About You:
- Strong communicator: Clear spoken English and ability to communicate effectively
- Patient & Calm: Able to provide reassurance and maintain a positive approach
- Reliable & Flexible: Good timekeeping and adaptable
- Friendly & Respectful: Builds a positive, professional relationship
- Team Awareness: Able to communicate any concerns or updates to family members
- Training & Development: willingness to engage in specialised & comprehensive training

Pay: Up to £14.80 per hour
