VACANCY: Laser Operator
LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)
SHIFTS: Saturday and Sunday 6am - 6pm - plus one 8 hour shift midweek.
PAY: £18.65 - £22.44 Per Hour.

MTL Advanced is hiring due to a major expansion, marked by the opening of our brand-new manufacturing facility, based in Rotherham just 5 minutes away from Meadowhall shopping centre.

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.
You will be joining our highly skilled Laser Cutting team to ensure work is produced to the highest quality standard and to customer requirements. The role involves operating Laser Cutting machines to fabricate precision components, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process. As the Laser Operator, you will have experience in fabrication and welding, along with basic mathematical skills to ensure precision in measurements and cuts.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
· Operate hoist / crane to load sheet steel onto laser bed
· Setting the machine up for cutting
· Unloading parts and unused sheet steel and storing
· Ensure Laser Machines are supplied with the correct materials
· Ensure material is checked for size, thickness and grade prior to cutting
· Cut and shape the correct materials according to engineer drawings
· Inspect finished components; Marking up of cut parts, cleaning and fettling products
· Ensure parts and sheets are handled and labelled correctly
· Ensure the parts are routed correctly to the next department / team
ABOUT YOU:
· Knowledge working within a machining operative / machine minding capacity or general laser production
· Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
· Slinging and lifting crane experience
· A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
· Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
