Vanguard Personnel is currently recruiting for a Finance Officer (Hybrid) on behalf of a respected and expanding organisation.

The Opportunity
As a Finance Officer, you'll be responsible for a broad range of accounting and finance administration duties, helping to maintain accurate financial records, support reporting requirements, and assist with the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider business teams, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills while working in a supportive hybrid environment that values initiative and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Raise customer invoices and monitor outstanding balances.
- Assist with credit control and account queries where required.
- Prepare payment runs and ensure supplier payments are processed accurately.
- Support monthly management accounts by preparing reconciliations and financial data.
- Maintain accurate accounting records across finance systems.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Process employee expenses and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
- Support payroll preparation by checking timesheets and employee records.
- Produce financial reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and administrative efficiency.
- Carry out general finance administration and provide support to the wider business.
About You
We're looking for someone who is dependable, organised, and confident working with financial information.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping role.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial administration.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with colleagues and external contacts.
- The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team.
Desirable
- AAT qualification or studying towards a recognised finance qualification.
- Experience supporting month-end processes.
- Knowledge of payroll administration.
- Experience working within a multi-site or fast-paced business environment.
