Waking Night Support Worker – Social Care (Client's Own Home)
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Hours: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
Shift Pattern: 8:00pm – 8:00am (Waking Nights)
Minimum Commitment: 2 nights per week
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Waking Night Support Workers to join our team supporting an individual in their own home.
The person we support has a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism and has a history of self-harm. We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and professional individuals who have experience supporting people with complex needs and who can confidently manage behaviours that may be challenging, manipulative, or emotionally demanding.
This role requires staff who can maintain professional boundaries, remain calm under pressure, and provide consistent, person-centred support throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing overnight support and monitoring to ensure the individual's safety and wellbeing.
- Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours.
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate records and incident reports.
- Working collaboratively with the wider support team and following care plans and risk assessments.
- Encouraging independence while providing reassurance and support when needed.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in social care, mental health, learning disabilities, autism support, or a related field.
- Experience managing challenging behaviours and complex support needs.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain consistent in your approach.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
- Reliability, resilience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
