The Role
GOTO Events is looking for an experienced Joiner, Carpenter or Practical Maker to help build bespoke props and team building equipment for corporate events across the UK.
We are specifically looking for someone with strong woodworking and joinery skills who has access to their own workshop and tools.
This role is ideal for a retired or semi-retired joiner, cabinet maker, carpenter or workshop-based maker looking for flexible project work.
Many of our projects involve creating robust, professional-looking props and game elements that need to be durable, portable and capable of being used repeatedly at events.
Typical Projects
- Wooden challenge equipment
- Escape room style puzzles and props
- Themed team building game components
- Custom boxes, crates and containers
- Event props and display items
- Refurbishment and improvement of existing equipment
Essential Requirements
- Strong joinery or carpentry skills
- Ability to work independently from a brief or concept
- High standard of workmanship
- Practical problem-solving ability
- Access to your own workshop and woodworking equipment
- Ability to construct durable items suitable for repeated commercial use
Desirable
- Cabinet making experience
- Experience building bespoke furniture or custom items
- Painting and finishing skills
- Full UK driving licence
What We're Looking For
We are not looking for artists, designers or purely creative prop makers.
We are looking for a practical, workshop-based individual who enjoys building things, has strong woodworking skills and can turn ideas into high-quality finished products.
