Job Introduction
Seven Supported Housing Ltd is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to support the growth and development of its supported housing services.
This role is focused on local authority liaison, referral pathway development, council engagement, and supported housing business growth. The successful candidate will build strong professional relationships with councils, housing teams, commissioning teams, adult social care teams, homelessness teams, and other referral partners.
This is not a generic housing administration role. We are looking for someone who understands supported housing, local authority expectations, referral pathways, and Exempt Accommodation Housing Benefit.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain professional relationships with councils, local authorities, housing departments, adult social care teams, homelessness teams, commissioning teams, and statutory partners.
- Act as a key point of contact between Seven Supported Housing Ltd and local authority stakeholders.
- Attend meetings with local authorities, referral partners, commissioners, and housing-related organisations.
- Promote Seven Supported Housing Ltd services clearly, professionally, and accurately.
- Identify opportunities for new placements, referrals, contracts, and supported living partnerships.
- Develop a strong pipeline of local authority and referral partner relationships.
- Follow up referral opportunities promptly and professionally.
- Work with internal management to assess whether potential referrals are suitable for the service.
- Support the preparation of service information, proposals, presentations, and introductory material for councils and referral partners.
- Maintain accurate records of contacts, meetings, referrals, pipeline opportunities, and follow-up actions.
- Support evidence gathering for local authority reviews, Housing Benefit queries, audits, inspections, or service monitoring.
- Escalate safeguarding, compliance, property, or referral concerns promptly to the appropriate manager.

- A confident and professional communicator with experience liaising with councils, local authorities, or statutory referral partners.
- Someone with strong knowledge of supported housing, supported living, and referral pathways.
- A commercially aware individual who can build relationships while maintaining strong compliance and safeguarding standards.
- A highly organised person able to manage contacts, referrals, meetings, and follow-up actions.
- A professional who can represent the company with credibility at meetings, forums, networking events, and local authority engagement sessions.
- Someone able to balance business growth with service quality, safeguarding, and responsible supported housing practice.
Requirements
- Previous experience in supported housing, supported living, housing management, homelessness services, social housing, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience liaising with councils, local authorities, housing teams, or statutory referral partners.
- Practical understanding of supported accommodation referral pathways.
- Strong working knowledge of Exempt Rates / Exempt Accommodation Housing Benefit. This is an essential deal-breaker requirement.
- Understanding of rent, service charges, support arrangements, property standards, and local authority evidence expectations.
- Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities when working in supported housing environments.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and follow up promptly
- Willingness to complete mandatory company training.
- Enhanced DBS required.
