Pay: £600 per week (inclusive umbrella rate) for non-QTS candidates
QTS pay is dependent on school and pay scale
Hours: 8:20am – 3:30pm

We Educate Recruitment are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Teachers to work across a range of mainstream secondary schools in Southend-on-Sea and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody considering a future career in teaching, graduates looking to gain school experience or experienced educators seeking flexible opportunities within secondary schools.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not required for this role, although it would be beneficial. We are looking for candidates with confidence, strong communication skills and the ability to manage a classroom positively and professionally.
The Role:
As a Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher. You will be responsible for ensuring students remain engaged with their learning, managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment throughout the school day.
You may also support students with:
- Autism (ASD)
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
- Behavioural Needs
- Speech and Language Difficulties
- Additional SEND requirements depending on the school
Responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons to secondary students
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Supporting students with their learning and engagement
- Working across different subjects and year groups
- Building positive relationships with students and staff
- Remaining flexible and adaptable within different school settings
