We are seeking a Head of Litigation to join our team at Howard & Over, within our Plymouth Office. The ideal candidate for this role will be a motivated and professional solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE, with experience in general litigation, property disputes, and contentious probate matters. A knowledge of personal injury work would be beneficial, but not essential. They will have the ability to lead and develop a caseload, demonstrate strong client care skills, and provide strategic direction to the department.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing and developing a varied caseload across litigation, property, and contentious probate.
Leading and supporting the litigation team, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
Advising clients on complex legal matters, providing practical solutions.
Representing clients effectively in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
Developing strong client relationships and contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence.
Supporting the growth of the department through business development initiatives.
Mentoring and supervising junior team members.
