About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Volunteer Minibus Driver to support residents of our care homes with transportation to appointments, social activities, outings, and community events throughout the West Midlands.
This rewarding role helps residents maintain their independence, wellbeing, and connection to the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive a 17-seater minibus transporting care home residents and staff.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking where required.
- Ensure the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of all passengers during journeys.
- Conduct basic vehicle checks before and after use and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate journey records when required.
- Adhere to all road traffic regulations and organisational policies.
Essential Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (mandatory).
- Clean driving licence with no significant endorsements.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo a DBS check if not already held).
- Good driving record and strong awareness of passenger safety.
- Friendly, patient, and professional manner when interacting with elderly residents.
- Ability to commit to driving assignments a few times per week.
