Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver specialising in Tipper, Skip, Hook and Grab operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials to various sites while operating specialised vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service. The position involves delivering construction and waste management materials, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. We have 1 depot here in Merthyr and another in Cardiff so looking for drivers from both areas to work from either or and will cover both areas.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles including Tipper, Skip, and Grab lorries to transport goods to designated locations. Grab driver rate negoitable on experience
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and report any defects or issues.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure and compliant handling.
- Follow planned routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
- Assist with manoeuvring vehicles in tight spaces or difficult access areas when necessary.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with relevant experience in commercial driving.
- Experience operating Tipper, Skip, or Grab lorries is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of flatbed operations is a plus.
- Proven delivery driver experience with a strong focus on safety and punctuality.
- Good understanding of road regulations and compliance standards within the UK.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation.
- A clean driving licence with no serious endorsements or points that could affect licensing status. This role is ideal for drivers committed to delivering exceptional service while maintaining the highest safety standards in a dynamic environment.
