Job Description: Production Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Redditch
Salary: £40,000 – £44,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – Double Days (05:30–14:00 / 13:30–22:00)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
A well-established and growing food manufacturing business is currently recruiting for both a Production Maintenance Engineer and a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support operations at its Redditch facility.

The Role
As part of the on-site engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of production equipment and site services across the facility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of process manufacturing equipment
- Supporting industrial food processing and cooking systems
- Maintaining pumps, motors, conveyors, and associated machinery
- Servicing general site utilities including air compressors and water systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Working collaboratively to maximise machine uptime and production efficiency
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety and engineering best practice
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site
Training and development will also be provided on additional site systems including steam boilers and refrigeration equipment.
Candidate Requirements
Successful candidates will ideally have:
- Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
- Either a production-biased or mechanically biased maintenance background
- Experience working on process equipment and industrial machinery
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to engineering maintenance
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
Desirable skills include:
- Electrical maintenance knowledge
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Food manufacturing industry experience
