We’re seeking a proactive part-time Health & Safety Manager to join our team and ensure health, safety, quality and environmental standards are embedded across everything we do.
About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing and improving our Health, Safety and Quality practices, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining high standards and supporting a culture of safety and quality throughout Chaotic.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage the processes and systems required for an ISO-aligned Integrated Management System (IMS) that integrates occupational health and safety, quality, and information security management in line with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO/IEC 27001, ensuring effective risk management, compliance, and continual improvement.
- Manage the day-to-day workplace health and safety, including for events and site visits.
- Design and implement a single, streamlined IMS that satisfies both ISO 9001(Quality) and ISO 45001 (Health &Safety).
- Establish a roadmap and baseline controls to work towards Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 (Information Security), focusing on protecting participant data and competition integrity.
- Maintain the central Document Control system to ensure all policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and risk assessments are current and accessible.
- Develop and manage the IMS non-conformity processes.
Healthy and Safety
- Lead on compliance with the health and safety management systems.
- Manage contractor and supplier compliance, ensuring all third parties meet the company’s safety and quality benchmarks.
- Review and create risk assessments and method statements when required.
- Develop Event Safety Plans, including site maps, crowd management strategies, and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Identify HSQ training needs and deliver relevant briefings, such as toolbox talks or specialised event safety inductions.
- Foster a safety first culture where employees feel empowered to report near-misses and suggest quality improvements.
Audit and Compliance
- Establish and execute an internal audit and management review programme to verify the effectiveness of the IMS across all business units.
- Act as the lead point of contact for external UKAS-accredited bodies during certification audits.
- Conduct lessons learned reviews and support managers to complete root cause analysis to identify non-conformities and drive continuous improvement.
Key Skills and Experience
- ISO Management Systems Experience
- Proven experience in implementing and managing ISO 9001 and 45001; prior exposure to ISO 27001 is desirable.
- Over 5 years’ experience managing occupational health and safety.
- Ideally, a NEBOSH Diploma or (NEBOSH National General Certificate) or equivalent and a recognised Lead Auditor qualification.
