Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bank Chef to oversee culinary operations within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The Bank Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of hospitality and culinary excellence across all food offerings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operation during service hours
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Manage food production schedules, optimise utilisation of ingredients, and control portion sizes
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service, including serving when necessary
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative culinary techniques
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance skills, efficiency, and teamwork
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and minimise wastage through effective stock management
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a busy kitchen environment or hospitality setting
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and culinary arts
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations applicable to the hospitality industry
- Experience working in restaurant or catering environments preferred
- Knowledge of food presentation techniques and customer service principles
- Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles advantageous but not essential
