Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Pharmacy Manager (Non Pharmacist Manager) to oversee daily pharmacy operations. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of patient care. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting pharmacy services, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth workflow within the pharmacy environment. Prior experience in pharmacy settings and a strong understanding of medication management are essential for this position.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and support personnel.
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and oversee medication administration procedures.
- Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Implement and monitor compliance with legal, safety, and professional standards within the pharmacy.
- Assist with patient care activities such as medication counselling and providing information on drug interactions.
- Organise staff rotas, training programmes, and professional development initiatives.
- Handle administrative tasks including record keeping, reporting, and liaising with healthcare professionals.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety regulations, including COVID-19 protocols where applicable.
- Support quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of patient service.
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
- You must have level 2 qulifaction - able to dispense
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Ability to lead and motivate staff whilst fostering a positive team environment.
- Good understanding of pharmacy legislation, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and administrative tools.
