KITCHEN PORTER – CASTLETON, DERBYSHIRE
Ye Olde Nags Head in Castleton is a charming, ‘character’ hotel set in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park, offering 9 bedrooms, a full service bistro-style restaurant and a cosy real ale bar with regular live music and entertainment events that appeal to both local trade and visitors.
The owners are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter working five out of seven days a week. The working day is either varies between the hours of 12pm to 11pm. For someone with a real interest in the food and restaurants sector, this could become the first step on an exciting career in catering, as full training will be provided.
The role involves helping the kitchen to run smoothly by keeping all equipment and surfaces spotlessly clean and tidy, kitchen set-up and clean-down, collecting and washing up pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, unloading food and equipment deliveries, helping to organise storage and freezer spaces, and some basic food preparation.
Experience will be useful, but is not essential. However, it goes without saying that you will need to have a genuine passion for the sector and a clear focus as to how you want to develop your catering career.
Starting rate of pay £12.71 per hour.
Please note: this is not a 'live-in' role and there is no staff accommodation provided at the hotel. Applicants should therefore be located within reasonable daily commuting distance of Castleton, Derbyshire.
