Our well-established, specialist family law practice is seeking a motivated and organised Paralegal to join our growing team. Our work covers all aspects of private family law and public children law. We approach every case with empathy, respect, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients, during what can be one of the most challenging periods in their lives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a law graduate looking to develop a long-term career in family law within a supportive and collaborative environment. We would also like to hear from experienced paralegals who are looking for progression to a training contract.
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to demonstrate empathy and professionalism when dealing with clients, and will play a key role supporting our solicitors with a varied range of administrative and legal tasks.
The Role:
- Assisting solicitors across a wide range of family law matters.
- Supporting the team with some audio typing, telephone calls and general administrative duties as required.
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence, and court bundles.
- Managing client files and maintaining accurate records.
- Liaising with clients, courts, barristers, experts, and other professionals.
- Conducting legal research.
- Drafting attendance notes and taking instructions from clients where appropriate.
- Managing diaries, appointments, and key deadlines.
- Providing excellent client care throughout the lifetime of each matter.
The Candidate:
- Previous experience as a paralegal within family law, desirable but not essential
- Would suit individuals with a Law degree, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) or those undertaking CILEX.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- A compassionate and professional approach when dealing with clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in family law.
