It features a rich, slow-cooked pork broth, Japanese street food, and the UK's largest selection of sake, all served in a relaxing, locally-inspired dining space.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the daily operations of our busy establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant procedures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional service and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will play a vital role in supervising staff, managing customer relations, and assisting with the overall management of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Assist with supervising staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service are maintained at all times.
- Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Assist with inventory control, stock ordering, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the premises.
- Support in coordinating shifts between front-of-house and kitchen teams to optimise workflow.
- Participate in hiring processes and contribute to team development initiatives.
- Promote a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes.
- Previous experience in restaurant management or team management roles preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour.
- Experience in serving, hospitality, or hotel environments is advantageous.
- Barista experience or familiarity with bar operations is desirable but not essential.
- A proactive approach to leadership with the ability to motivate team members and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
