The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Engineer to lead and develop quality activities with both internal and external customers. This is a key role within the Quality Engineering Department, supporting the full product lifecycle from New Product Introduction (NPI) through to end of life ensuring quality is built into every product and process we deliver.
The Quality Engineer will operate across all Rittal‑CSM quality engineering activities, helping ensure products meet customer expectations through robust quality systems, effective problem solving, and continuous improvement.
You will embed high standards from concept to production, ensuring efficient, lean manufacturing processes and strong cross‑functional collaboration.
This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 39 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain an accident‑free workplace.
- Ensure PPE requirements are followed by all employees, visitors and contractors.
- Conduct all actions safely and in line with risk assessments.
- Ensure NPI targets, including product and process qualification, are achieved on time.
- Support successful transfer of new products into mass production.
- Lead customer complaints management and implement robust corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Approve qualification of new machines, processes and products.
- Complete PPAP requirements.
- Provide customer‑facing support to resolve quality challenges.
- Drive robust, objective corrective actions with assertiveness and resilience.
- Encourage collaboration across departments.
- Positively contribute to team development and company success.
Qualifications & Experience
We welcome candidates from all backgrounds. To succeed, you’ll bring:
Essential
- HNC or above in an Engineering discipline
- Knowledge of measuring techniques & gauge R&R
- Knowledge of Cp/Cpk studies
- Knowledge of process audits, OBA and EOL inspections
- Ability to manage workload effectively
- Strong understanding of company procedures and policies
- Experience using problem‑solving systems and methodologies
- Ability to read engineering drawings, including critical dimensions and weld identification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence presenting to different stakeholders
- Internal auditor experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role within manufacturing?
Desirable
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- ISO 9001 Lead or Internal Auditor qualification
- CQI qualifications
- Knowledge of ISO Standards: 9001 / 14001 / 45001
- Experience of structured NPI launch processes
- FMEA experience

- We’re offering a salary of £38,000.00 - £50,000.00, (starting salary will normally be at the lower end of the range, subject to the candidate’s level of experience)
