Heathview Rose Care Home is a ne upcoming Care Hone in April 2026 and are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join their dynamic kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards are upheld. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in food preparation and a desire to grow within the hospitality industry.
Duties of a Sous Chef
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Help in the planning and execution of menus, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring quality control at all stages.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements of a Sous Chef
- Proven experience in a similar role within a care home setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A passion for food and an eagerness to help create exceptional dining experiences.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team management skills, with experience supervising kitchen personnel.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the business needs.
