Job Summary
We are a small family business seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver TRAMPER to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. Responsibilities
- Operate with ferry trailers, containers and curtains sider in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure it is safe and roadworthy
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring securement during transit
- Deliver goods to various locations, maintaining professionalism and customer service standards
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Adhere to all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation
- Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle throughout shifts
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience
- Familiarity with role operations and loading/unloading procedures
- Strong understanding of driving regulations for HGVs in the UK
- Demonstrated ability to operate a Class 1 HGV safely over long distances
- Experience with route planning and time management in a logistics environment
