Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sash and Case Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining sash and case windows with precision and care. This role requires a strong understanding of various construction techniques and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and fit sash and case windows according to project specifications and schematics
- Remove old or damaged windows safely and efficiently before installing new units
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to prepare window frames and components
- Ensure all fittings are level, secure, and compliant with safety standards
- Assist with the preparation of surfaces through plastering or construction painting as needed
- Follow technical drawings and schematics to accurately install windows in various building types
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to health and safety regulations on-site
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, or carpentry teams when necessary
- Troubleshoot installation issues promptly to minimise delays
Experience
- Proven experience in construction-related roles such as carpentry, fabrication, or general building work
- Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, or plastering is advantageous but not essential
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools specific to window fitting and general construction tasks
- Experience working on-site in residential or commercial settings is preferred
- Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to construction environments
