Overview
We are seeking a skilled Self Employed Painter and Decorator to provide professional painting and decorating services on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to manage your own schedule while delivering high-quality finishes for clients. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and attention to detail
- Assess client requirements and provide advice on colour schemes and decorating options
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Manage your own schedule, liaising directly with clients to arrange appointments
- Maintain a clean working environment and dispose of waste responsibly
- Source quality materials and tools needed for each project
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure their expectations are met or exceeded
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating, with a portfolio of completed projects
- Strong understanding of different paints, finishes, and decorating techniques
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of liaising professionally with clients
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between multiple sites
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Organised, reliable, and committed to delivering high standards of workmanship
Pay: From £80.00 per day
