Job Overview
- We are seeking committed, motivated students who are passionate about education and capable of delivering high-quality tutoring to learners of all ages. While previous tutoring experience—whether voluntary, mentoring-based, or through another organisation—is highly desirable, it is not essential; we welcome applicants who demonstrate a strong interest in learning and teaching, as full training and professional development will be provided. All tutors must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate that is registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one. Learning Champions Tutoring Limited will facilitate the process of acquiring a DBS, with the initial cost paid by the tutor; this typically includes a cost £57 for the certificate and £16 per year to maintain Update Service coverage.
- Academic excellence is an important part of our standards. Applicants must have strong performance in A Level and GCSE Mathematics. Further Mathematics is highly desirable. Higher level study of Mathematics or a related discipline is desired.
- For this role, we are seeking 2 male and 2 female mathematics tutors. You must be able to tutor the subject up to and including A Level. You may be given KS3, GCSE, AS Level or A Level students. A good knowledge of the subject is required so that you may tutor for different exam boards - resources will be provided where necessary.
- Applicants must also be able to provide a valid character reference from a reliable source, such as a university department, tutoring organisation, workplace, or similar. Through these requirements, we aim to ensure that our tutors are capable, dependable, and well-positioned to deliver exceptional educational support while upholding the standards and values of Learning Champions Tutoring.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualised lesson plans that cater to the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
- Educate students in specific subjects, ensuring comprehension and retention of material.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators to track progress and address any concerns.

- Assess student performance regularly and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly to maximise effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.

- Tutoring or mentoring experience is essential, and a reference may be requested.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and parents.
- Ability to educate across various subjects, demonstrating expertise in the relevant areas (if applicable).

Pay Range:
Specific Pay Ranges for the roles are given below. These pay ranges are also contracted to you so will never be outside the range unless the contract changes.
- KS3/GCSE Mathematics £10 - £15 per hour
- A Level Mathematics £15 - £25 per hour
Pay is on a client-by-client basis; you will be paid a different rate for every student you tutor, depending on the economic factors the student faces.
Key Criteria:
- Must be a UK Home Student Undergraduate. No International Students will be accepted.
- Must be familiar or willing to familiarise themselves with Google Meet, Google Calendar, and online meeting tools.
- Must have a stable internet connection and access to relevant tutoring resources, both technological and study-based, such as books (books and workbooks can be provided in cases).
- Must be wanting to make a difference in the lives of children who require private tutoring outside of school, but struggle to obtain this due to financial and economic reasons.
