Join Alanda’s for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Now Hiring Fryers/Cooks | 5th to 31st August (TRAINING REQUIRED BEFOREHAND)
**MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH COOKING/FRYING**
Alanda’s is a local, family-owned business with multiple locations across Edinburgh — including our popular mobile street food units at George Square Gardens (next to Edinburgh Uni) and George Street during the Fringe Festival.
We’re looking for hardworking, enthusiastic individuals to join our team from July until the end of August to help us serve thousands of festival-goers during the busiest and most exciting month of the year.
Job Details:
- Start Date: 5th August
- End Date: 31st August
- Schedule: 6 days per week, 8-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Frying fish, chips, and other food items
- Grilling menu items
- Food preparation and making up customer orders
- Replenishing your fridge and fryer stations throughout the day
- General cleaning and keeping the unit organised
- Working as part of a team and using initiative
- Maintaining excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Performing well under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment

Requirements:
- Previous experience in cooking or frying is required
- Comfortable with heavy lifting
- Amazing time management and organisiational skills
- A reliable, positive, and proactive attitude
- Full or near-full availability throughout August
