Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to elderly residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will be responsible for implementing care plans and supervising junior staff while fostering a positive environment for both residents and colleagues.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility and administering medication.
- Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss resident care and share insights on improving service delivery.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the care home environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or a similar role is essential.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents and their families compassionately.
- Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining care records and documentation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of creating and implementing effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care in a residential setting.
- Level 3 and medication trained and registration with Social Care Wales is essential.
