Overview

Duties
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu plans tailored for young children
- Supervise kitchen staff and assist in training team members to ensure efficient food production and service
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to ensure cost-effective food management
- Oversee food handling procedures, maintaining strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Plan menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements, including allergies and special diets, while ensuring variety and nutritional balance
- Coordinate with nursery staff to schedule meal times, monitor portion sizes, and ensure timely food service during busy periods
- Maintain accurate records of food production, storage temperatures, cleaning schedules, and compliance documentation
Requirements
- Level 3 Qualified Chef certification or equivalent culinary qualification with proven experience in a professional kitchen setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP protocols, and hygiene practices within the food industry
- Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and food service operations in a childcare or similar environment is highly desirable
- Proven track record catering for allergies and food intolerances
