We are currently seeking a Support Worker who is passionate about helping others live successfully in the community. The Support Worker will be responsible for providing companionship, personal care and light housework, as well as assisting with transportation to various appointments. A successful candidate will understand the importance of meeting the needs, goals, concerns of our clients, and the ability to work independently while still being a part of a team.
We are a complex care provider and as such some of our Service User's can present behaviours that challenge, experience in this field along with an understanding of mental health and learning disabilities is desirable although not essential.
The role will include day hours with possible sleep-in shifts, paid at £85.50 per night.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting people in the community to reach their full potential.
- Building a rapport with the people being supported, developing trust and a firm understanding of their individual needs.
- Supporting people to access social events and to attend any required appointments.
- Supporting/Assisting people to prepare and cook meals as well as promote healthy options.
- Possibly supporting people with some aspects of their personal care.
- Possibly supporting people with all aspects of their medication.
- Providing emotional support.
- Working as part of a team along with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in order to meet the individual needs of the person being supported.
- To complete all mandatory training and work within the specified policies, procedures and guidelines.
