M&E Engineer / Energy Manager
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

We’re supporting a large, public sector organisation with the recruitment of a senior M&E Engineer / Energy Manager. This role leads on the performance, compliance and optimisation of mechanical and electrical systems across a multi‑site estate, while driving energy efficiency, carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives.
The Role
- Lead technical authority for M&E systems (HVAC, electrical, water, etc.)
- Ensure full statutory compliance and safe operation of all building services
- Manage PPM, audits and compliance records
- Oversee energy strategy, BMS monitoring and performance optimisation
- Identify and deliver carbon reduction and sustainability improvements
- Manage contractors and support procurement of M&E services
- Provide strategic estates input, including lifecycle planning and investment cases
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience managing M&E systems across a complex or multi‑site estate
- Senior‑level background in estates, compliance and building services
- Proven track record in energy management and sustainability
- Knowledge of BMS, building regulations and H&S legislation
- Degree‑level qualification; professional membership (CIBSE, RICS) desirable
Ideal Backgrounds
Public sector estates (NHS, policing, education), large corporate estates, transport/infrastructure, or similar environments.
Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
