Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Semi-Senior Accountant to join our small team in a friendly accountancy practice in High Wycombe. The ideal candidate will have a background and experience of more than 3 years in an accountancy practice, with proficiency in various accounting software such as Xero, Sage50, Sage Business Cloud and QuickBooks. This role will involve ensuring compliance with regulations together with providing support to other staff members. Open to part time or full time candidates.
Salary dependant upon experience.
Duties to include
- Assist with client assignments, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Assist with the preparation, maintenance and delivery of accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards for senior level discussions.
- Assist with the preparation of individual self-assessment tax returns.
- Client bookkeeping, payroll, VAT Returns, CIS Returns, MTD IT returns and monthly management accounts.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software systems to enhance operational efficiency of both the firm and the client.
- Mentor and train team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Build and maintain strong client and team relationships
- Produce high quality written communication for senior & partner level review.
- Assist with client meetings and maintain regular client contact.
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with 3+ years post qualification experience.
- Have strong client relationship skills, the ability to be adaptable and be a team player.
- Proficiency in accounting software including Xero, Sage50, Sage Business Cloud and QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.

Pay: £24,915.49-£56,416.02 per year
