About the role
Numbers is a friendly, professional accountancy practice based in Wendover, Bucks. We're growing our payroll team and are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join us on a part-time basis.
This role is for experienced payroll professionals only. If you haven't worked in payroll before (processing RTI submissions, handling starters/leavers, or managing pension auto-enrolment) this vacancy isn't the right fit. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running from day one.
The role
- Part-time, 21 hours per week (9:00–16:30 3 days a week – exact days TBC)
- Based at our Wendover office
- Salary: £28-30,000 FTE depending on experience
- 20 days holiday pro rata (plus bank holidays)

What you'll be doing
- Processing payroll for a portfolio of clients - accurately and on time
- Handling RTI submissions to HMRC
- Processing new starters, leavers, and pay changes; issuing P45s and P60s
- Calculating wages, overtime, deductions, statutory payments, and pension contributions
- Managing auto-enrolment and pension re-enrolment; completing re-declarations of compliance
- Setting up new client payroll schemes on Sage and liaising with HMRC
- Checking eligibility for small employers' relief and employment allowance
- Dealing with client payroll queries and supporting account managers
- Processing payroll year end and setting up for the new tax year
What we need from you
- Proven, hands-on payroll experience is essential (bureau/practice experience is a real plus)
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll
- Strong understanding of UK PAYE, RTI, statutory payments, and auto-enrolment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Good client communication skills
