Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our domiciliary care team in Hillingdon and surrounding areas. Sponsorship opportunities are available for eligible candidates. This role involves providing high-quality personalised care to individuals in their own homes, supporting their independence and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1–2 years of paid care experience, including practical experience with hoist and moving & handling equipment. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, a caring nature, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. All positions are paid, including internships.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care to clients in their own homes, respecting individual needs and preferences
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication support
- Safely operate hoists, stand aids, and moving & handling equipment in line with individual care plans and risk assessments
- Assist clients with transfers including bed to chair, chair to wheelchair, and bath transfers
- Develop and follow care plans tailored to each client's requirements, including manual handling protocols recommended by occupational therapists
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems and documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
- Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving where applicable
- Report any equipment faults or changes in client mobility needs promptly to the care coordinator
- Promote independence whilst ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of paid experience in a care home or domiciliary care setting is required
- Practical experience operating hoists and moving & handling equipment is essential
- Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and individual risk assessment procedures
- Driving licence is desirable for supporting clients who require transportation assistance
- Good command of English language skills, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and completing documentation
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach towards clients
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high standards of care
- Right to work in the UK or eligible for Health and Care Worker visa sponsorship
