Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our care team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to residents. This role involves supervising junior staff, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the wellbeing of those in our care. A valid driving licence is essential, as the position may require travelling between care facilities or community visits. The Senior Carer will play a vital role in maintaining a compassionate, safe, and supportive environment for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support junior care staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication management
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Lead by example in delivering compassionate and respectful care
- Organise and participate in team meetings to ensure effective communication within the care team
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Assist with organising activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation for residents
- Drive between different care locations or community visits as required
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or senior care environment is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Proven ability to develop and manage care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Competent in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is required for travel between locations or community visits
